Hello, I’m Kate Toussaint, I live with my young family in Oakham. I’m a trained Cordon Bleu cook from the Tante Marie Cookery School in Woking.
My earliest recollection of great food was my grandmother dishing up amazing Christmas lunches from her 50 year old Aga, great memories of family get-togethers and delicious food.
At UWE Bristol I attained my degree in Business Studies, but I was never going to sit behind a desk for ever I decided to follow my growing passion and enrol at Tante Marie. There followed a long career as a corporate chef of a City law firm while running my own independent catering business.
We moved to Rutland in 2020, literally on the first day of Covid lockdown. I launched Kate.Cooks shortly afterwards.
Whilst my main focus is events, I also provide a range of ‘Freezer Classics’ for when you want those family favourites; quick, easy and delicious.
When it comes to my food, my instincts are artisanal, and absolute taste is paramount. I use the freshest of locally grown and sourced ingredients from the markets and other suppliers, and I believe my dishes can best be summed up as traditional yet innovative with deep modern flavours.
